In album G+ Mentorship ART Program for Photographers –– Ursula Broicher

Final PLUSpost

It is now a little over a year ago that I signed up to G+ . At that time I had no idea, that this marks the start of a new stage in my life.
I've always loved to take photos and I managed to shoot quite often nice pictures, but my muse at that time was a pathetic little heap. As I gradually discovered the works of other photographers, this opened up a whole new world to me. When I saw a photograph that I liked, I looked at it and tried to find out what the photographers intension was. Then I tried to shoot similar, without really knowing why I did it. My Muse began to crane its neck and to strain its ears.  And so I realized step by step that I no longer just wanted to photograph a flower for example, because she is pretty, but I wanted that my image has also an artistic statement. I devoured the images of other photographers who inspired me by the varied creativity. I knew that I was going in the right direction, but could not really find my way.
Very soon after I started at G+  I discovered +Robin Griggs Wood , and was immediately fascinated by her pictures but not only of that, but also the content of her posts have always been very inspiring. And it struck me,  that although she has a lot of friends and followers, she has always responded to every single person. For me she was on a high pedestal, I was thinking of never being able to get close. But by this brief individually turning to, she drew you closer to her. I appreciated that very much.
Then I discovered the +G+ Mentorship Program for Photographers  and found out that +Robin Griggs Wood  is the mentor! I was immediately hooked to, have read many posts of the participants, and looked at their albums they posted after completing the program. They gave a such positive summary of it and were beaming  to have found so many friends. I could not imagine as good as one can call people you do not know and neither gets to see them as friends … I should know better.
I did not know if I have chances to become included in this program, but I had to try it and to my great excitement I was selected and allowed to participate! My muse was sitting beside me with glance in her eyes and looked at me expectantly! In these last 3 months, she has blossomed into a magnificent guy with shining eyes!  It was a very comprehensive and varied time. They said from the beginning, the more we put into it the more comes out for us and I wanted as much as possible to take from this experience on my way forward. We have learned the basic rules of artistic creation.
+Robin Griggs Wood  taught us with immense patience and positive energy, with comprehensive knowledge and finest sense of touch, how that can be. She's always been a great pillar of support for us when we were lost, and then again Robin put her mentor hat on (I've always wondered how this hat looks like…. <winke, winke> Robin..;o)..) gave us again a slap on the butt and sent us out to continue. She is the kind of person, who feeds hundreds of penguins knocking at her backdoor instead of sending them away! She gives you all her love. Thank you from My heart!

I had to leave my familiar home and move into the unknown. I had to do things I haven’t done before, because I did not know that one can do them. It often took a lot of power, but every stone that I have removed from my way helped me to be able to go further. And I wanted to continue, I still want it!
There were also the many helpers (PIFs and Alumni) who were cheering from the roadside, who have responded to our questions, and have always praised and encouraged us. Thank you so much!

And then there are also all my colleagues who were full of enthusiasm on this path.. There were many discussions and mutual support, we had lot of fun and became friends I don’t want to miss any more! Thank you all so much!
I am so grateful and happy about this change in my life. I am grateful that I was able to enter into +Robin Griggs Wood's universe and now can continue as a small moon orbiting around her. I am grateful for all the other moons circling around her and I really can call my friends. I am very thankful for that!

This changed my life. I am now on my way. Now I look at everything differently, and know, that there are so many possibilities, I just have to go out find out and try! I will continue my journey in the discovery of creating the best possible art that I can imagine. Even if I still have to learn a lot, I know what direction I have to go, to be content and happy …… and my muse hops and dances around me! :o))

I heartily recommend you all the +G+ Mentorship Program for Photographers !!!

In this album I have collected a few of my favorite images I shoot during the mentorship program. Enjoy!! :o)
